PLOT
Yuu Otosaka may seem like any other charming and smart adolescent on the outside, but below there is a secret: for five seconds at a time, he can enter someone else's consciousness and take complete control of their body. Yuu has been utilizing this talent to achieve the best grades for years, which has allowed him to enroll in a respected high school. The mysterious Nao Tomori forces Yuu and his sister Ayumi to enroll in Hoshinoumi Academy, a school for students with supernatural talents, after she discovers Yuu exercising his power. The duty of finding young people who abuse their power falls to the student council of the school, which is chaired by Nao. Yuu is made to join the student council, and together with them, they encounter difficult obstacles that push him closer to the startling realization that his own, seemingly insufficient skill might be more potent than he could have ever believed. Charlotte is an original narrative by Clannad and Angel Beats writer Jun Maeda that dives into the supernatural lives of these youngsters and the price they have to pay for being unique.
