PLOT
The serene town of Seize is located on the fringes of Helvetia. The city's residents go about their everyday lives on the cobblestone streets unaffected by the strained military relations between Helvetia and the nearby Roman Empire. In these conditions, the youthful and enthusiastic Kanata Sorami joins the 1121st platoon of the Helvetian army, stationed at the Clocktower Fortress in Seize. She eagerly accepts the guidance of Rio Kazumiya, the Sergeant Major, who also happens to be an accomplished trumpet player, after enlisting in the military to pursue her dream of becoming a bugler. They are assisted by the aloof technician Nol Kannagi, the tenacious gunner Kureha Suminoya, and the sympathetic Captain Felicia Heideman. Together, they discover Seize's charm and the enduring happiness of a society that has survived despite the world around them collapsing.
