PLOT
There are some animals in Puella Magi Madoka Magica who have the power to grant any wish to a selected female. But in order to fulfill her wish, the girl must train to become magical and go up against witches, creatures of despair that cause mishaps, illness, and suicide. A cat-like creature named Kyubey approaches Madoka Kaname in the city of Mitakihara and offers her the chance to become a magical girl. Homura Akemi, a different magical girl, is trying her hardest to prevent Madoka from becoming one. Madoka quickly discovers that the life of a magical girl is not the idyllic fairytale she had anticipated, but rather is characterized by melancholy and hopelessness.
