PLOT

A group of villains who also serve as the faculty at V.I.L.E. Academy, a school for thieves and covert criminal underworld organization, are responsible for raising and training the orphan girl, codenamed Black Sheep, who was discovered on the side of a road in Buenos Aires, Argentina, about 20 years ago. V.I.L.E. Academy is situated on the Isle of V.I.L.E. in the Canary Islands. Up until she discovers the organization's true origins, Black Sheep regards the island its teachers as her home and family. She turns rogue, leaves the island, and takes the name Carmen Sandiego after seeing the damage V.I.L.E. does. She now aims to destroy V.I.L.E. by snatching items that they have previously taken, returning them to their proper locations or owners, and thwarting their future heists and plans. White-hat hacker Player, who provides recon tech support, and Boston twins Zack and Ivy, who assist Carmen on-site and frequently serve as distractions or drive various get-away cars, make up Carmen's buddies and crew. Together, they set out to foil V.I.L.E.'s illegal plots while evading the mysterious law enforcement organization A.C.M.E., which has set its sights on capturing V.I.L.E and Carmen. She treats each of them with care.
