PLOT
Suzuka is a romantic comedy with a sports theme that combines the desire of love and competition. Yamato Akitsuki, a young guy from rural Hiroshima Prefecture who is going to the great city of Tokyo, and Suzuka Asahina, his new next-door neighbor, are the focus of the story. Yamato develops feelings for Suzuka and joins the track and field team in an attempt to win her over. Yamato learns after joining that he has the ability to compete at the top level in the 100-meter sprint. Character development is mostly facilitated by dramatic structure in Suzuka's character-driven plot. Utilizing a character's backstory helps to better develop their characterization. While the tone of the novel is generally realistic, there are a few instances of surreal humor. Track contests, vacations, cultural festivals, and trips to a theme park and karaoke box are just a few of the events included in the narrative. There are several minor variations between the manga and anime, but they both follow the same plot. One of these modifications is that the anime's nudist scenes are less graphic than the manga's. Another discrepancy is the color of some of the characters' hair, such as Miki, who appears to have brilliant red hair on the manga covers but has red-brown hair in the anime.
