PLOT

The setting of Yozakura Quartet is actually divided into two worlds: a human world and a youkai world. Youkai may have physical characteristics resembling animals despite having a largely human appearance, coupled with a variety of unique talents. Although youkai are typically isolated to their own world, some have gotten close to people. Seven enchanted trees, sometimes known as the Seven Pillars, formed a protective barrier around the city that served as a symbol of peace and a link between the two realms. The Hizumi Life Counseling Office works to keep the peace between the humans and youkai who live in this Sakurashin metropolis. Akina Hiizumi, a teenager who possesses the hereditary family talent for performing "tune," which can send malevolent youkai back to their world permanently, serves as the director of this office. He is helped by a gang of girls, including Hime Yarizakura, the town's 16-year-old youkai mayor, Ao Nanami, the announcer and resident telepath, and Kotoha Isone, a half-youkai with the ability to call up objects simply by saying their names. These four guardians and their closest friends must continue to watch over Sakurashin and uphold the precarious peace between humans and youkai when new residents move in and strange things start happening.
