PLOT

Many people from both the human and youkai worlds crossed over to the other side hundreds of years ago when the boundaries between them briefly overlapped. The sacred Seven Pillars that surround the city serve as a beacon for the youkai, and the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office's attempts to keep the locals content have helped Sakurashin become a centre for all inter-dimensional concerns in the years following this incident. Hime Yarizakura, the city's young mayor, is joined in this office by the satori Ao Nanami, who has the power to read minds, the half-youkai Kotoha Isone, who has the power to call anything with the sound of a word, the oni twins Kyousuke and Touka Kishi, and the office's director, Akina Hiizumi, who inherited the power to return youkai to their home world. The Life Counseling Office suppresses any Strikes—rare instances in which people suddenly acquire youkai abilities and go on the attack—in addition to performing volunteer and arbitration work. But when strikes become more frequent, political rivals move, and nefarious people swarm the city, the emergence of a malevolent man heralds trouble. It is the responsibility of the Life Counseling Office to defend the exquisite city they call home as the self-declared guardians of Sakurashin!
