PLOT
An affable Suimei High School student named Sorata Kanda is kicked out of the dorms for taking in a stray cat. He winds up at the legendary "Sakura Hall," where he meets its residents—a group of quirky, artistic prodigies—after his compassion turns against him. Sorata is determined to find new owners for these cats and leave Sakura Hall permanently despite being stuck with an increasing number of stray cats and being ordinary among geniuses. His life is soon further disrupted when he moves in when he is assigned to care after Mashiro Shiina, a new transfer student and aspiring manga author. Despite being a highly respected artist, she is completely incapable of thinking for herself and lacks common sense. Sorata and Mashiro become closer as they navigate the webs of expectations, find their self-worth, and pursue their true calling in life with the help of the other inhabitants of Sakura Hall.
