King Inglis, a hero who spent his entire life establishing his nation, is on the verge of passing away. The goddess Alistia appears to reward him for his valiant efforts and grants him one wish. Inglis requests to be resurrected in order to perfect the blade because he has never been able to. In a split second, Inglis envisions himself giving birth to a daughter of the aristocratic Eucus family in the far future. Inglis is found to be Runeless—unable to employ the runes that make magic possible in this time period—six years later. As a result, she is not qualified to become a knight. This, however, works out well for Inglis' purpose; instead, she chooses to serve as Rafinha Bilford's squire, allowing Inglis to concentrate on pushing herself to the maximum. Instead of being obstacles, Inglis sees these difficulties as opportunities to sharpen her abilities and perhaps even develop into an outstanding squire in the process.
