PLOT
Sarah Crewe is a bright young woman who succeeds in both her academic and social life in London after being sent to an all-girls boarding school as a result of her father's abroad employment. Her life is suddenly flipped upside down, though, when the headmistress summons her into her office and breaks the heartbreaking news that no child wants to hear: her father has passed away. Sarah loses her position as a student and is made to work as a maid at the boarding school in order to support herself because she is now an orphan. Even worse, when her former friends learn of her financial collapse, they abruptly turn against her. In order to recover her dignity and identity, Sarah must come to grips with the sad situation she finds herself in. To do this, she must learn to endure and make new friends.
