PLOT
One day, while out for a stroll with her mother and siblings, a grey and white kitten with black stripes gets lost. The kitten gets lost in her surroundings and tries to find her family, but instead is discovered by a small boy named Youhei and his mother. As pets are not permitted in their apartment complex, they take the kitten home and try to find her a new home. Due to difficulties with this, the family decides to retain the kitten. The kitten accidentally answers to "Chi" (as in shi- from shikko, the Japanese word for "urine") while being housebroken, and this becomes her name. Chi then proceeds to live with her new family, learning new things and coming into contact with many people and animals.
