PLOT
Kan Kysuke, a young high school student who at the start of the series has recently transferred into Jyoy Orange High School, is the protagonist of Hungry Heart: Wild Striker. Kan Seisuke, an accomplished and incredibly well-known football player for A.C. Milan, is Kysuke's older brother and the person he most looks up to and has admired since he was a young boy. Following Seisuke's departure from Japan to join the A.C. Milan of Italy, Kysuke began to be compared to his brother and criticized for having a distinct playing style. Living in his brother's shadow caused Kysuke's enthusiasm for the game to gradually wane and eventually go away entirely. Kysuke's intense love and enthusiasm for football returns to its peak following his transfer to Jyoy and a serendipitous encounter with Tsujiwaki Miki, an energetic girl with a lot of passion for the game who rapidly rekindles his love for the game with her drive to succeed. He quickly joins the Jyoy men's football squad and befriends a number of players, including a superb goalie named Sakai Jefferson and a driven Brazilian transfer student named Rodrigo. With the help of his Jyoy buddies, Miki's care and support, as well as his love and desire for football, Kysuke challenges the finest players and develops an intense and steadfast enthusiasm for the sport.
