PLOT
The narrative starts in Shizuoka in 1629, under the authority of Tokugawa Tadanaga. Despite the vehement protests of his vassals, the daimy organized a competition in which the competitors used actual steel Japanese swords rather than bokken ("wooden sword"). The plot centers on the first duel between the blind samurai Irako Seigen and the one-armed swordsman Fujiki Gennosuke, as well as the events that led to both of them signing up for Tokugawa's tournament.
