PLOT
Kazuma is a native Alter user who works as a mercenary to support himself and his close buddy Kanami Yuta in their shared living situation. Kunihiko Kimishima, a friend of Kazuma's, assigns him the task of eliminating another native Alter user. However, as a result, Kazuma is captured by a man going by the name of Ryuho from HOLY. Kazuma is being questioned by Ryuho about an unidentified Alter user who subsequently goes by the name Crystal and killed his mother and dog. Kazuma returns home while holding Mimori Kiryu, a woman from HOLY, as a hostage. When HOLY captures local Alter users, Kazuma enters a wilderness and discovers Crystal. Kazuma's Alter gets a power increase after defeating Crystal. Shortly after, it is revealed that in a parallel universe where all species are independent thinking Alters, a similar incident led to the Great Uprising. After Kinishima loses his life while aiding Kazuma in one of his battles, Kazuma goes on the attack against HOLY. Soon after, Kazuma and Ryuho engage in combat, but in the course of it, they accidentally create a portal to a parallel dimension, sparking a new revolt and drawing the attention of the Mainland government.
