PLOT
Takayuki Narumi, a male high school student, serves as the story's main protagonist in Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. The first chapter acts as an introduction to the second chapter and takes place between July 6 and August 20, 1998. Mitsuki Hayase and Shinji Taira, two of Takayuki's pals, arrange for them to meet Haruka Suzumiya. Due to performance anxiety, Takayuki finds himself in bed with a naked, sprawled-out Haruka, but they do not get romantically involved. Takayuki is forced to purchase her a ring by Mitsuki on her birthday, which causes him to be late for his date with Haruka. Due to an accident at the end of the chapter that Takayuki could not prevent, Haruka finds up in a coma. In chapter two, it is revealed that Mitsuki has been looking after Takayuki for the three years since the accident, during which time they have grown close. Additionally, Takayuki has started working part-time at the Daikuuji (Sky Temple) family eatery. Takayuki receives a call from Haruka's sister informing him that her sister has awakened from her coma and wants to visit him.
