Seven bisque dolls electrified and given intelligence by a gem called Rosa Mystica were made in the 20th century by the renowned doll manufacturer Rozen. Phase 2 Since then, Rozen has dispatched the dolls to seek masters and engage in the "Alice Game," a competition in which they compete to collect each other's Rosa Mysticas. To become a perfect doll known as Alice and to be reunited with Rozen, a doll must collect all seven. Phase 5 The names of the seven Rozen Maidens are Suigintou, Kanaria, Suiseiseki, Souseiseki, Shinku, Hinaichigo, and Kirakisho, in the sequence of their creation. Jun Sakurada, a middle schooler who withdrew from society after experiencing bullying from his peers, is the subject of Rozen Maiden. He joins the Alice Game with the other doll masters after being chosen to be Shinku's master. As the show goes on, Jun also takes on the role of Suiseiseki and Hinaichigo's master. After Suigintou captures Souseiseki's Rosa Mystica, Jun's Rozen Maidens decide to save her and put a stop to the Alice Game amicably; in Phase 21, they make friends with Kanaria who agrees with them. However, Kirakisho attacks the group and captures Shinku and Suiseiseki in the N-field, a plane of awareness that connects the universe, while absorbing Hinaichigo. Jun is shown getting ready to enter the N-field to save the dolls at the end of Rozen Maiden.
