PLOT
Himeno Awayuki, a high school student, is striving to settle into her new life after her father, who had been widowed, remarried the affluent widow Natsue. Himeno jumps out of a bush while taking a shortcut to school and lands on Hayate, the Knight of Wind. Himeno intends to punch Hayate after some argument, but he blocks her hand, creating a strong light. The Princess of Disaster is awakening, and she is employing demon larva to absorb Leafe, the source of all life, according to the other Leafe Knights she encounters later. They explain this to her when she first meets them. They implore Himeno to take on the role of the Prétear so they can defend the entire globe. At first, Himeno is hesitant because she thinks they are tricking her. Himeno offers to assist when a larva approaches them and starts stealing leafe. She combines with him to become the Wind Prétear after being instructed by Hayate to grab his hand. Himeno is able to eliminate the larva after becoming accustomed to her new abilities.
