PLOT
Popotan is set in the far future amid the ruins of Tokyo, which were decimated by a catastrophe and have since undergone geological changes. An enormous spire-like dandelion construction that appeared in the city on a hillside was the reason for the catastrophe. A European-style mansion, which is entirely out of place in the metropolis, serves as the game's primary setting. The majority of the day is spent outside the estate, exploring the town and running into various personalities to set off event sequences. Popotan explores Chris's changes in lifestyle in addition to the enigmas surrounding the spire-like object that once destroyed Tokyo. Chris is struggling and contemplating stealing food from a cart outside the entrance to a shrine when the story begins. After failing at his theft, he travels the town in search of employment. He locates a convenience shop and asks the clerk for directions to the mansion. The three sisters and their lifelike android maid are encountered when he arrives without first getting permission. Chris begs to stay because the females are attractive and the rent is reasonable; they agree but make him take a part-time job. The owner of the convenience store hires him, and as the plot develops, Chris interacts with the girls and starts to open up socially and show concern for other people. Additionally, he makes new friends including his classmate Konami, Nono, a shrine maiden in the area, and Shizuku.
