PLOT
A Full-Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, or DMMORPG, called YGGDRASIL was released in 2126 and set itself apart from all other DMMORPGs by offering a very high level of player interaction. The game servers are ready to be shut down after a long 12-year existence. Ainz Ooal Gown, a guild that used to have 41 members and was regarded as one of the game's strongest guilds, exists within the game. Only four people are still playing; the other 37 have given up the game. Momonga, a skeletal "Overlord" character, is the guild's leader and they continue to have their headquarters in The Great Tomb of Nazarick. He extends an invitation to the other guild members just before the shutdown, but only one of them shows up—and even then, only briefly. He accepts the fact that his buddies must attend to their other lives despite being saddened by this and decides to stay logged in till the servers go down.
