PLOT
Kazuki, Toi, and Enta, three middle school students, are turned into kappas by Keppi, the prince of the Kappa Kingdom, as a result of unintentionally smashing a statue of a kappa that acts as the protector deity of the neighborhood of Asakusa. They arrive to help Keppi gather the Dishes of Hope, which grant the desires of whoever holds them. The Otter Empire agents Reo and Mabu devised the zombie shirikodama, which may be collected to make meals. The Otter Empire, which goes by the name "Kappazon, Inc.," subjugates society by exploiting popular aspirations and has long been the nemesis of the Kappa Kingdom. The guys must work together to utter the word "Sarazanmai," which they must do in order to vanquish the zombies. Every time the sound is generated, one of the boys' secrets is disclosed, making it difficult for them to communicate.
