PLOT
The story takes place in Southeast Asian rainforests in the Universal Century 0079. For control of the region and its resources, the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon are engaged in a bloody guerilla conflict. Aina Sahalin, who is operating an experimental mobile armor, represents Zeon's best chance of success in the area. Meanwhile, Ensign Shiro Amada, who has just been named leader of the 08th MS Team, provides reinforcements to the Earth Federation Army. Aina and Shiro became acquainted thanks to a shared space rescue, but when Shiro learns that Aina is actually the Zeon mobile armor's pilot, he is detained for treason. Shiro is given one final opportunity by the Federation, but he must lead the 08th MS Team far into Zeon-controlled territory in order to locate Zeon's secret base. The star-crossed lovers must choose between their actual allegiances—with each other or with their respective sides—because the Zeon is cornered and the Federation is depending on Shiro and his crew to win.
