PLOT
The series is centered around Medabots, artificially intelligent robots created in the future with the intention of helping people. Ikki Tenry, a boy in the first episode of the series, is ten years old (nine in the Japanese version), and he aspires to win the World Robattle Tournament. Ikki's parents, however, won't purchase him a Medabot because he can't afford one. Nevertheless, he is able to save enough money to purchase an old model, and with any luck, he stumbles across a medal in a river. Ikki promptly places it inside the Metabee Medabot he bought. The only issue is that Metabee has a serious attitude problem as a result of the medal he discovered, which is unusual for a Medabot and makes Ikki believe he is flawed. Later in the series, it is shown that Metabee actually owns a rare medal, disproving this theory.
