PLOT
Xin and Piao are war orphans serving as servants in a destitute village in the kingdom of Qin during the Warring States era of ancient China. But they practice every day with the goal of becoming the "Great Generals of the Heavens." One day, a minister takes Piao to the palace for an unspecified reason while leaving Xin behind. A few months later, Piao, who is on the point of passing away, arrives in the village and advises Xin to leave for another village. There, Xin encounters Ying Zheng, the reigning King of Qin, who is a youth nearly identical to Piao. Xin discovers that Piao was Ying Zheng's body double and was fatally injured during a struggle for the crown. Even though Xin is initially incensed with Ying Zheng for killing Piao, he decides to take advantage of the situation and helps Ying Zheng overthrow his younger half-brother Cheng Jiao and retake the Qin kingdom. After being successful in this, Xin begins his military career as a Qin soldier before rising to the rank of commander on the front lines of China's warring states. He works tirelessly to realize his aim of being the "Greatest General in the World" while simultaneously assisting King Zheng of Qin in realizing his vision of unity to put a stop to the constant fighting.
