PLOT
Uchika Hanesaki was the reigning badminton world champion. Ayano, who would later follow her mother, spent several years training under Uchika. When Ayano was sick before a crucial badminton match in middle school, she lost, which led Uchika to send her and Ayano to live with her grandparents. Ayano became depressed after her mother left and quit playing competitive badminton as a result. As Ayano begins her first year of high school, former player Kentaro Tachibana approaches her about joining the badminton team. She gains the confidence to play badminton again while there.
