PLOT
The neighborhood is called Hole, and it is a dark, decaying, and disordered place where the powerful prey on the weak and death is commonplace. It is a realm free from morality and law, and the magic users who rule it utilize it as a trial ground. The magic users consider the residents of Hole to be nothing more than insects despite being the race at the top of their society. The helpless residents of Hole are routinely murdered, dismembered, and used as experimental subjects without giving it a second thought. With unrestricted access to and from the cesspool and little resistance to their control, the magic users look invincible to most—with the exception of a handful. One such person is Kaiman, a more reptile-like creature than a man. He pursues them heedlessly in search of information using just a reliable set of bayonets and his mystical immunity. Magic users are his only hope for returning to normality because he is cursed by his appearance and plagued by nightmares. His female partner Nikaidou, who owns the restaurant Hungry Bug, is his best ally because his stomach is his hardest challenge. Dorohedoro, which is set in a dark, horrifyingly designed universe, successfully balances humor and lightheartedness with bloodshed and destruction.
