PLOT
The setting for Blood-C is an isolated rural village on the shore of Lake Suwa in Nagano Prefecture. Saya Kisaragi is the shrine maiden of the Shinto shrine, managed by her father Tadayoshi. She is an outwardly friendly and strange high school student, and her friends include her neighbor and cafe owner Fumito Nanahara, as well as classmates Yka Amino, the Motoe twins, Itsuki Tomofusa, Shinichir Tokizane, and Kanako Tsutsutori. But, although Saya and her father go to school during the day, they spend the night protecting the town against Elder Bairns, creatures who follow humans and feed on their blood. Saya defeats the Elder Bairns thanks to her talent in the "art of the sword," but those who can speak accuse her and the humans of breaking the "Shrovetide" agreement. Saya also comes across a talking dog that claims it is here to fulfill someone's dream. She also experiences memory lapses and headaches everytime she attempts to remember.
