PLOT
Action Duels are sweeping the globe, allowing duelists to soar and swing with their Duel Monsters. The "Solid Vision" mechanism can now give Duel Monsters bulk thanks to an evolutionary advancement. Son of Youusho Sakaki, who founded You Show Duel School in Miami City, is Yuuya Sakaki. Yuusho introduced the idea of Entertainment Dueling by insisting that duels are not weapons of war but rather entertainment for the public. But at the height of his fame, Yuusho vanishes and skips his showdown with Strong Ishijima, the winner of the Action Duel. Yuuya vows to follow in his father's footsteps and become an Entertainment Duelist despite being scarred by this abrupt leaving. Years later, while engaged in combat with Strong Ishijima, Yuuya's desperation to prevail inspires a miracle. His pendant starts to shine, transforming his playing cards into pendulum cards, allowing him to perform a pendulum summon—a sort of summoning both he and the rest of the world had never heard of—and instantly becoming famous. In order to include Pendulum Summoning into the system, Reiji Akaba, CEO of Leo Corporation and founder of the prestigious Leo Duel School, begins creating new Pendulum Cards. As a result, the secrets behind Pendulum Summoning and Yuuya's father begin to come into focus, and Yuuya gradually comes to understand what it takes to succeed as an Entertainment Duelist.
