PLOT

A quantum supercomputer is found in an abandoned factory close to Kadic Academy by Jeremy Belpois, an 8th grade genius enrolled there for boarding school. After turning it on, he finds Aelita, an artificially intelligent girl, confined in a virtual world called Lyoko. Jeremy discovers that the Supercomputer is also home to the completely autonomous, evil, and highly intelligent multi-agent system known as X.A.N.A. Using Lyoko's abilities, X.A.N.A. may infect electronics and real-world items with a virus-like quality and cause havoc. The main goal of X.A.N.A. is to remove everybody who knows about the Supercomputer's existence so that it can take over the real world and exterminate all of humanity. Jeremy puts in a lot of effort to bring Aelita into the physical realm and halt X.A.N.A. attacks. In order to protect both realms from the evil virtual entity, Jeremy is helped by his three pals Odd Della Robbia, Ulrich Stern, and Yumi Ishiyama who have been virtualized as Lyoko. They accomplish this by accompanying Aelita to several Lyoko Towers that act as interfaces between Lyoko and Earth. The world is sent back in time to rectify any harm inflicted by X.A.N.A. once the Tower is turned off, and anybody who has been scanned into the Supercomputer retains their recollection of the events. Jeremy can then execute the "Return to the Past" program. Aelita is ultimately manifested in "Code: Earth," but the team soon learns that X.A.N.A. implanted a virus in her that will kill her if the Supercomputer is switched off. They understand that they cannot eliminate X.A.N.A without also eliminating Aelita.
