Clarence Wendle, a lively and fun-loving 10-year-old kid, and his two best pals, Jeff (the more cerebral type) and Sumo (who frequently resorts to harsh tactics when solving difficulties), are the main characters of the television show. Clarence resides in the made-up town of Aberdale, Arizona, with his divorced mother Mary and her lover Chad. Each episode focuses on the issues and challenges that Clarence and his pals face in everyday life, as well as their childhood adventures and experiences. The staff and pupils of Clarence's school, Aberdale Elementary, are among the other characters. A few episodes highlight the lives of minor people like Clarence's classmates and the residents of Aberdale.
