PLOT

The fictional town of Mexifornia, which lies on the border between California and Mexico, is where the events of Bordertown are set. The town of Calexico, California, serves as the inspiration for Mexifornia because both cities have a similar geography and atmosphere. Ernesto Gonzalez and Bud Buckwald are the two primary characters. Bud, Janice Buckwald, and their three children, Sanford, Becky, and Gert, reside at 25200 Cedar Road. Bud is a border agent. Ernesto Gonzalez, a family-oriented immigrant who has been in the country for less than 10 years and is content to be with his family in the United States of America, lives next door to him.
