PLOT
Tiger Mask, actual name Naoto Date, was a notorious American heel wrestler who was brutal in the ring. When he returned to Japan, a young boy told him that he wanted to grow up to be a villain like Tiger Mask, and that's when he became a face. The boy lived in the same orphanage where Tiger Mask had spent his formative years. Tiger was motivated to become a brave wrestler after feeling that his father didn't want the youngster to look up to a villain. Tigers' Den, a shadowy organization that groomed young people to be wicked heel wrestlers in exchange for them donating half of their earnings to the group, served as the major enemy in the manga and anime. Tiger Mask, formerly known as "Yellow Devil," had been a member of Tigers' Den, but he no longer desired their company. Instead, he gave his money to the orphanage. The organization's boss was enraged by this, so he dispatched multiple killers, including other professional wrestlers, to exact revenge.
