PLOT
Everyone is born female in Simulicram's serene theocracy. Each maiden participates in a unique rite when she choose her sex at the age of 17. To coordinate with the ancient flying ships known as Simoun needed to defend Simulicram, however, takes two pairs of maiden priestesses. As long as they want to continue operating their Simoun, these Pairs choose not to participate in the ceremony. After a terrifying attack by an enemy nation decimates the squadron known as Chor Tempest, Aer is hired to be a Simoun pilot. She must gain access to Neviril, Regina of Chor Tempest, in order to receive her wings. Neviril's former Pair, who she lost in the conflict when she attempted a prohibited Simoun move, still hold a special place in her heart, nonetheless.
