PLOT
Yuki Nagato, a quiet gamer and bookworm, is the leader of the literary club at North High School in a world that is both familiar and alien. The only other members of the group are her buddies, the extremely cautious Ryouko Asakura and the utterly unremarkable Kyon. But Yuki appreciates the time she gets to spend with them, especially when she's with Kyon, the man she has a crush on. Tsuruya and Mikuru Asahina, two pals with contrasting personalities who frequently visit the Literary Club, are added to the mix. On a chilly December day, Yuki is forced to draw bizarre symbols on the ground while returning to her apartment by a girl who claims to be trying to capture Santa Claus. She identifies herself as Haruhi Suzumiya, a peculiar student from the esteemed Kouyouen Academy who is searching for espers, time travelers, and aliens. When Itsuki Koizumi and Haruhi unexpectedly enter the clubroom, they announce that they are now formal members of the Literary Club, with Haruhi assuming the role of executive president. After the peaceful times of the Literary Club are over, Yuki and her friends are led by Haruhi into a series of escapades, each of which brings Yuki and Kyon closer than ever.
