PLOT
The "Yukari Law" is a genetic compatibility-based system for matching up youngsters who have become 16 years old in a future in which Japan tries to counteract its low birth rate. It is a widely acknowledged policy that promises a fulfilling life to those who cooperate and penalizes those who disobey. It is referred to as "The Red Threads of Science." Time is of the essence for Yukari Nejima, who is almost sixteen. He chooses to confess to Misaki Takasaki, the attractive and well-liked girl he has had a crush on for the previous five years. Misaki, to his astonishment, feels the same way. However, just as the two are having a private time, Yukari gets his official notice. He is suddenly thrust into a world of love and falsehoods as he frantically clings to his feelings. He is to be married to his blunt, government-assigned spouse, Ririna "Snooty" Sanada.
