"Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne" (Phantom Thief Jeanne) is a magical girl and mystery anime series based on the manga of the same name by Arina Tanemura. The story revolves around a high school gymnast named Maron Kusakabe, who is the reincarnation of Joan of Arc (Jeanne D'Arc). Maron transforms into a phantom thief magical girl to collect the scattered pieces of God's power, which are also being sought by the devil. When demons possess objects and use them to manipulate people's hearts, Maron exorcises the demons by "stealing" the objects with a magical chess piece. While Maron struggles with her responsibilities as Jeanne, she also navigates the complexities of her everyday life, including friendships, her feelings for her crush, and the pain of her parents' abandonment.
