PLOT
The protagonist of the tale is Tetsuya Tsurugi, an orphan who was fostered by Kenzo Kabuto, the Mazinger Z pilot Kouji Kabuto's father who was formerly believed to have passed away. The updated version of Mazinger, which was based on his father's "Chogokin Z," was made by Kenzo Kabuto (Super Alloy Z). The Mycenae Empire, commanded by the Great General of Darkness and his army of Battle Beasts, has emerged as humanity's new foe. The updated version was created with a stronger shape to combat this threat. The Great Mazinger is then given to Tetsuya by Kabuto for his usage. Jun Hono, an orphaned half-Japanese, half-African-American girl, rides alongside him in her feminine robot, "Venus A (Venus Ace)". As the Mycenae Battle Beasts overpower Mazinger Z, Tetsuya's training with Great Mazinger is finished in time to help Kabuto. After the first Mazinger was destroyed, Kabuto left Japan's defense in the care of Tetsuya and the Fortress of Science before traveling to America to investigate space travel. However, Tetsuya prevailed in his battle with the Mycenae Battle Beasts, who were commanded by Ankoku Daishogun (Great General of Darkness), their military supremo. Following the defeat of the Great General of Darkness, Doctor Hell of Mazinger Z assumed the guise of the Great Marshall of Hell and now commands the Mycenae forces.
