PLOT
Futaro Uesugi, a talented academic student in high school, has a challenging existence because his mother passed away, he doesn't have any friends, and his father is heavily in debt. When the wealthy Nakano family enrolls in his school, a chance arises. Immediately, Futaro is employed as a well compensated tutor. Futaro is shocked to learn that his five charges—five identical quintuplet sisters with distinct personalities—have no interest in learning and have appalling scores. Some of the quintuplets are reluctant to have Futaro, whom they perceive as a stranger, live with them in their apartment, but over time, Futaro's persistent diligence persuades those girls to accept him and to do better in school. Futaro grows close to each of the quintuplets over the course of the series. He finally marries one of them, but her real identity isn't revealed until near the end of the series thanks to a flashforward.
