PLOT
Unidentified gamer wakes up with the avatar body and armor he was using while playing online. He is startled to learn that he resembles a skeleton when he sees his reflection in a river because of the unique avatar skin he used, Skeleton. The player believes that it would be better to mask his appearance by never taking off his helmet when in an unknown area and to look for locals. He observes a bunch of attackers from a distance, and when he notices that two ladies are going to be raped, he leaps into action, killing the attackers. Rita Farren, Rita's maid, and Lauren, a noblewoman, introduce themselves. The knight identifies himself as Arc, playing by his gaming name, and offers to accompany the two women to Luvierte. Rita offers him a copper passport that will make it simpler for him to travel through any city in the realm, but he declines it since he doesn't want to meet Lauren's father, Viscount Buckle du Luvierte, as doing so would be awkward should the noble request to see his face. He comes across a wounded green-furred cottontailed fox ("ventu vulpis") being held in a cage while taking out a bunch of robbers who had attacked him close to the town of Diento and were hiding out in a cave. He sets the creature free, uses magic to treat its wound, and makes friends with it. He gives the fox the name "Ponta" after it makes it clear that it wants to travel with him.
