PLOT
"Futari wa Precure: Splash Star" is the third installment in the popular "Precure" (short for "Pretty Cure") magical girl anime franchise. It aired in Japan from 2006 to 2007. The series follows Saki Hyuuga and Mai Mishou, two middle school girls who meet at the Sky Tree after following two glowing creatures named Flappy and Choppy. The creatures turn out to be inhabitants of the Land of Fountains, which was destroyed by an evil entity named Gohyaan and his subordinate, Karehan. To save both their world and the Land of Fountains, Flappy and Choppy grant Saki and Mai the power to transform into Cure Bloom and Cure Egret, the legendary warriors known as Pretty Cure. Unlike the previous "Futari wa Precure" series, "Splash Star" features new characters and a new storyline, although it keeps the theme of two girls transforming into magical warriors to fight against evil forces. The series emphasizes themes of friendship, teamwork, and the power of nature, and it is known for its exciting magical battles, heartfelt character moments, and vibrant animation. The "Splash Star" installment also introduces the concept of the girls having two Pretty Cure forms each, adding a new layer to the series' magical girl transformations and battles.
