PLOT
In 2017, the soldiers of the Holy Britannian Empire are encroaching on Europe. The army creates a specialized unit named Wyvern, or W-0, made up of former Japanese citizens known as "Elevens," in an effort to counter the opposition's intense pressure and stop the significant casualties. These young people are recruited from ghettos to fly Knightmare frames, humanoid combat machines, on perilous missions where they risk death in an effort to gain notoriety. It's up to W-0 to save a European regiment that is trapped by the enemy while attempting to retake a vital city. Lieutenant Akito Hyuuga, a combat expert known as "Hannibal's Ghost," was one of the people chosen for the rescue effort. But when the commanding commander starts the Knightmare's self-destruct process in an effort to kill as many Britons as possible, the purported rescue mission turns suicidal. Akito discovers that he is the only person still alive after it.
