PLOT

Aki's greatest hobby is playing the traditional taiko tamburo. One day, she receives a call from her elderly professor Yoshioka asking if she can return to her own country and teach the taiko to her students in anticipation of the local festival. Despite being undecided because she is not thought to be capable of instructing, the girl agrees and returns to Kariyama. Finds the country to be significantly altered: larger, more populous, and especially incorporated into the nearby city of Mitomi. This fact is causing the country to lose its cultural identity, so the students of the higher school are forced to participate in a play prior to the institution's closure in favor of Mitomi's. The encounter with the obedient students brings Aki back to her school years, her first encounter with the taiko, her love of music that has accompanied her throughout her life, and her struggle with a father who has never supported her musical studies. The day of the demonstration at the Kariyama Matsuri festival, among Aki and the students, are the professor Yoshioka, friends Naoto, Megumi, and Akane. However, Aki's biggest surprise is when his father unexpectedly appears in front of the crowd.
