PLOT
Aslan Jade Callenreese, also known as Ash Lynx, was taken from the streets of New York City as a runaway and was fostered by Dino Golzine, the notorious mafia godfather. Ash, who is now 17 and the leader of his own gang, starts looking into the enigmatic "Banana Fish" since his older brother Griffin has been muttering those two words since he got home from the Iraq War. However, his investigations are hampered when Dino sends his men in search of Ash in a hidden bar. The Japanese photographers Shunichi Ibe and his assistant Eiji Okumura, who are covering American street gangs, are introduced to Ash by his friend Skip at the pub. Shorter Wong, one of Ash's buddies, phones to interrupt their discussion to warn him about Dino. The moment Dino's men rush the pub, they kidnap Skip and Eiji in the ensuing mayhem. Now that they are in danger, Ash must find a way to save them and carry on his investigation into Banana Fish, but will his past involvement with organized crime prevent him from doing so?
