PLOT
The anime adaption depicts the youthful esper Kamui Shiro experiencing several fates while the manga's ongoing serialization is on hold. In response to his mother's last wishes, Kamui makes his six-year-long comeback to Tokyo. She believes he has the power to alter the course of history. He can battle for humans or the environment by joining the Dragons of Earth or Dragons of Heaven, respectively. Kamui becomes a Dragon of the Heaven when he decides to defend humanity out of pure love for his boyhood friends Kotori and Fuma Monou. Fuma, on the other hand, undergoes a personality transformation and turns into Kamui's antithesis among the Dragons of Earth. The new Fuma brutally murders Kotori and then promises to kill his companion. As a result of the trauma, Kamui develops catatonia. But the Dragon of Heaven Subaru Sumeragi gets inside Kamui's head and persuades him to accept reality and fulfill his goal. Kamui chooses to support the Dragons of Heaven in their quest to reclaim the original Fuma, but she is powerless to erect a barrier.
