PLOT
Akane Academy is the setting for World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman. There, students with special abilities known as Saviors receive training to combat creatures called Metaphysicals that viciously and randomly attack humans. The two types of Saviors—Shirogane (White Iron) and Kuroma (Black Magic)—are the reincarnations of gifted people who have experienced former lives and awakened memories of them. Kuroma manifest magic for protection while Shirogane manifest weapons and martial arts. The narrative centers on Moroha Haimura, the main character, who stands out for having reawakened memories of two previous lives: Flaga, a swordmaster and prince of a small nation, and Shu Saura, a wizard and King of the Netherworld. Moroha now possesses the skills of both a Kuroma and a Shirogane. He encounters Shizuno, a cool-headed female who was Shu Saura's wife, and Satsuki, a loud girl who was Sarasha, Flaga's sister, in a previous life. Satsuki is quite boastful and brash. With his special skills, he joins the Striker Unit, an elite group of Saviors from Akane Academy. When Satsuki and Shizuno start competing for his attention, Moroha's plans for a tranquil school life are destroyed. Things only become worse when Metaphysicals start to appear.
