PLOT
Although Yuuichi Katagiri has experienced financial difficulties throughout his life, he has learnt to remain happy and upbeat with the help of his tight group of friends. Yuuichi gathers the funds necessary to travel with them on the school outing in order to fulfill a promise he made to them. Shiho Sawaragi and Makoto Shibe, two of Yuuichi's acquaintances who were in charge of collecting the payments, come under suspicion when the amassed cash unexpectedly disappears. When no one else steps up to bear the blame for the failure to protect the money, Shiho and Makoto, although being innocent, do so. A few days later, Yuuichi and his buddies get enigmatic messages that coerce them into getting together. They are ambushed when they arrive and rendered unconscious. They discover themselves in an enigmatic room with "Manabu-kun," a figure from a contentious children's program that was canceled because of its pernicious nature. He tells them that one of them indirectly brought them together to pay off a huge debt. They will engage in a "friendship game," a collection of activities designed to gauge how well they get along and how much they can rely on one another. Due to the growing amount of secrets and betrayals, the group's faith begins to wane, and Yuuichi must decide which of his "friends" he can genuinely trust in order to find out who the traitor is.
