PLOT
During the Second World War, the Japanese once employed the potent strategy of onmyoudou magic to get the upper hand and build their country as a strong force. But once the revered onmyouji Yakou Tsuchimikado brought about the "Great Spiritual Disaster," which still causes problems for Tokyo today, Japan was easily overthrown. After this tragedy, the Onmyou Agency was founded to exorcise future spiritual catastrophes and battle the demons that would enter the planet. Onmyoudou has now been greatly modernized, streamlined, and improved for usage in a wide range of industries including technology and medicine. Harutora, a member of the Tsuchimikado branch family, is an example of someone who is unable to use the power. Despite an old vow to guard Natsume, the main family's heir and Yakou's purported reincarnation, as her familiar, Harutora lacks talent and opts to lead a typical life. But he resolves to keep his pledge and stand by Natsume's side when a prominent Onmyou Agency official makes an attempt to carry out the same experiment that ultimately brought about Japan's demise.
