PLOT
Quiet Tatsuma Hiyuu transfers to Magami Academy in Shinjuku during the spring of his senior year of high school. The mystery guy immediately befriends class troublemaker Kyouichi Houraiji thanks to his "outsider" status and his exceptional martial arts abilities. He also meets the captain of the girls' archery club, Komaki Sakurai, Yuuya Daigo of the wrestling club, and Aoi Misato, the president of the student council, through an odd link and a chance challenge. The flow of arcane energy, known as the Ryumyaku (literally, "dragon pulse," but often known as "dragon vein" or "dragon stream"), is abruptly and harshly disrupted during their contact. The five kids' latent power is awakened by the surge, giving them each a superhuman talent. The Magami students resolve to use their newly discovered abilities to defend the city from the invasion of evil forces after being made aware of them by Hisui, the young heir of the Kisaragi Clan who runs his family's antiques shop, as well as their mission to safeguard Tokyo from Oni (demons). The five unexpected companions learn that there may be a greater threat to Tokyo than just a few evil, arbitrary monsters as they battle the demons alongside Hisui Kisaragi. Someone using the Dark Arts to disrupt the Ryumyaku had to use force, and that person had a horrible ambition to unleash a long-dead evil. Can the teenagers defeat the Dark Arts by overcoming their own weaknesses and fears? And as they learn about their Stars of Fate, they will soon also have to face their own fates.
