PLOT
The plot begins when Yota Moteuchi learns that Takashi Niimai, his best friend, is in love with Moemi Hayakawa, the girl he likes. Due to his disappointment, he chooses to rent a movie from the enigmatic video store that suddenly materialized in front of him on the way home. "Gokuraku" was the name of the video store ("Paradise"). The distinctive feature of this video store was that its selection of videos featured "video girls," or female characters who really appear on the user's television when the video tape is played to uplift the renter. Yota decides to rent the Ai Amano-starring video "I'll Cheer You Up!" despite not being aware of the video actresses. Ai is created with the intention of enhancing Yota's life and inspiring him to pursue his love.
