PLOT
Since the introduction of the D2s, an invasive species that sprang from a black meteorite that crashed to Earth, the United States of America has been in complete disarray. To stop more deaths brought on by the D2s' hate of music, a public decree that is still in force today, in 2047, forbade citizens from performing any songs. Musicarts, young ladies dressed as classical music pieces, and Conductors, those in charge of them, are humanity's sole line of defense against the D2s. Following a spontaneous D2 attack, Takt Asahina, a reclusive piano prodigy, finds himself changed into a Conductor. Cosette Schneider, the younger sister of Anna Schneider, is killed in the same incident that also introduces Takt to Destiny, his Musicart. Takt, Destiny, and Anna set off on a risky voyage to the Symphonica Headquarters in New York City in search of a way to stabilize their bond. Takt is eager to get to the city so he can resume playing the piano, despite the fact that his enthusiasm draws the monsters he has grown to detest. Destiny's feeling of duty, meanwhile, leads the party into problems as they travel.
