PLOT
Life is filled with paperwork and crime even after death. Tsuzuki Asato, a 26-year-old dorky and cheerful shinigami (god of death), is in charge of making sure that the dead stay dead and remain in their rightful places. Despite working at this position for more than 70 years, he is in the worst division and receives terrible salary. Since shinigami work in pairs, he too has a tendency to lose partners, but he now appears to have one who will stick around: 16-year-old Kurosaki Hisoka, who is stubborn, sarcastic, somber, and defensive. They get closer to the plans of the serial killer Dr. Muraki Kazutaka with each case they look into. The bond between Tsuzuki and Hisoka is getting stronger and closer. But Tsuzuki's death has a murky past, and that will not bring him comfort.
